In LASEK, rather having your eye cut as in LASIK, the skin of your eye is gently pushed aside, and the laser reshapes your cornea with a cool beam of light, which is totally painless. A bandage contact lens is worn for a few days to promote healing. You will be legal to drive the day after your LASEK!
For even quicker recovery we also offer Epi-LASEK, where an automated machine pushes aside your epithelium. After Epi-LASEK, most patients see 20/25 the next day, so you won’t have to miss any work.
Both procedures are 100% non-cutting, so they are safer, and leave your eye stronger than after LASIK. Because no flap is created, Dr. Chynn can also safely treat higher prescriptions and thinner corneas.
